Young little "Ricky," age 11, calls and asks a really intelligent question in a lot of categories -- for an 11 year-old, for an 11 year-old boy, for a Christian, for someone calling "Pastor's Perspective" -- and a bunch more scores I can't give right now. His question was, "If God chooses us to be saved, how/when do we get to say we choose to be saved?" Excellent question, "Ricky!"
Their answer? "Well, 'Ricky,' God chooses everyone -- He's not willing that any should parish, y'know. God really chose us all before the foundation of the world. But we have to return the favor and choose Him back." I am not making this up. Trust me.
Pastor Chuck's been studying the bible longer than I've been alive, and Don can read Greek for crying out loud! But this answer defies biblical explanation (let alone rational). I don't even know where to start to respond. So I won't; I'll just bridle my tongue at this point lest I offend someone greatly.
